NITP CALL FOR CONFERENCE PAPERS FOR 49TH AGM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE 49TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE/ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF TOWN PLANNERS (NITP) WILL BE HELD IN KADUNA, KADUNA STATE, NIGERIA FROM 29TH OCTOBER TO 2ND NOVEMBER, 2018.


Preamble

The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) is a professional Association of persons who practice the profession of Urban and Regional Planning in Nigeria. The Institute annually holds its Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting during which issues of National Importance and relevance are discussed and recommendations are forwarded to Government and other stakeholders with a view to facilitating and organizing growth and physical development in our Nation.

 

The 2018 Edition of the National Conference, which is the 49th, is billed to hold in Kaduna State from 29th October to 2nd November. As usual, it aims to bring together leading academicians, scientists, urban administrators, professionals in practice, researchers, Politicians at all the tiers of Government, real estate developers, consultants, ICT specialists and service providers to exchange and share their experiences and research results as well as dialogue on various aspects of human settlements, planning and management. It will provide an inter-disciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners, administrators, and educators to present and discuss the challenges encountered and the solutions for physical planning and development in our urban and rural settlements.

 

The theme for this year’s conference is:

Submissions

The National Organizing Committee of the Conference hereby calls for submission of high quality papers on the Conference sub-themes for presentation during the Conference. The papers are expected to be original, conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental or theoretical, in presentation.

  • Presentations shall be on A4 paper double line spacing, New Times Roman font of 12 points and not more than 15 pages including references. Furthermore:
  • Papers must be appropriately referenced
  • Illustrations (features, maps, diagrams) must be in their best colours
  • Presenters are also required to prepare power point format with not more than 12 slides
  • All would-be presenters are expected to register for the Conference.

All submitted Conference papers in soft copy, will be subjected to blind peer review by competent reviewers. Submissions that do not conform to the requirements and size limit may be turned down without notice.

Abstract of papers are to be submitted by authors to the email addresses stated below before Friday, 11th May, 2018.

Complete papers should be submitted on or before Friday, 8th June, 2018 to the same addresses.

Authors of accepted papers (after review) will receive acknowledgement and further information for preparing their power point versions. All accepted contributions on or before Friday, 21st July, 2018 will be published in the Conference proceedings and may be in the Journal of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP).
